Boomer's Books offers all our great books for sale in our open "brick and mortar" shop. We've converted our 2 story, 1860's post and beam barn, into a quaint, country shop with spiral stairs and library ladders into a relaxing book-bowsing destination. We currently have 32,000 books on shelves, with another 30-40,000 waiting to be put out. We scour the New England countryside for interesting books and add to our inventory frequently. We also make frequent buying trips to Great Britain, to keep our military inventory restocked.
As of 2022, we are undergoing a revision of sorts. Having been virtual for 25 years, and Brick & Mortar for 20 years now, the realization that our shop could offer a little something for everyone has proven misguided. Beginning last year, in 2022, we altered our focus and are a shop concentrated on Military History (Air, Land, Naval), Arms & Armour, Railroad, Science Fiction, Fantasy, Mid19th century and earlier religous works, New England and New Hampshire.
We have limited stock of art, modern fiction, mystery childrens and literature, biographies, general history, science and natural history). We have drastically reduced genres that don't sell - Childrens', Psych, Literature, Mysteries, General Modern Fiction, Arts & Crafts, General Biographies, Self Help, Cookbooks, Language, Parenting & Education, Animals, Native American Studies, Sociology, and Science. (and maybe others!)
So what does that mean...? Boomers' Books WILL carry more of our specialties: Military History, Aviation, Naval, Military Biographies, Arms Armor (guns, etc), New England, Railroad, Occult, Religion, Science Fiction, Horror, Fantasy & Graphic Novels
Boomer's Books is owned and operated by John Rauscher.
John has a B.A in Mediaeval British History, and an M.A. in British & Irish History, and a strong interest in British military history. He is a master military model builder, and collects British Militaria. He has had several articles on modeling published in Military Modelling Magazine. Our depth in military history and modeling books is a natural outgrowth of his interests.
In his full time world, John has worked in social services for 33 years, the last 15 of which have specifically targeted the Veteran population. As of March 2020, John is President and CEO of Project After Action. PAA is a NH non-profit organization dedicated to providing targeted hands on assistance to veterans regardless of discharge status. This includes lite case management, referral services and will eventually include temporary shelter and housing supports. Facebook and Website pages to follow....
